Anubis update May 22 , 2010

We finished the paper mache on the Anubis Statues.

Thanks to my lovely wife who gave me a hand to mache the second statue ,

we got that one done in a matter of hours.

Next step is glueing on some saw dust.

Then it's ready for painting.

I have some sand color concrete paint that I can use to spray the statues , 

so it'll only take me a half hour or less to paint them .

Then I need to dry brush them with black.

I only have pics of the first finished statue for now.

Anubis statues update

Yep , we're still alive and kicking at the prop shop.

It's been a while since I made some props , or better , continued working on props.

I really need to get these 8ft Anubis statues out of the way to make room for new projects.

So , today I got as far as finishing the torsos and arms for the statues ,

as well the throne frames that they will sit on. I started making the hands but couldn't finish in time.

That will be something for tomorrow . Once the hands are done ,

I can start wrapping them in newspaper , or like the French would say : Papier mache. 

Anyway , here are a couple of pics. Don't have any pics yet with the arms and hands finished.
