Gargoyle

I decided to build a 5 foot gargoyle a few months ago.
The cemetery gate posts needed something extra.
Once I started the gargoyle , I realized it would take me
much longer to build than expected , so , instead of 2 , I only built one.
He is made out of plastic bottles , paper and a few pieces of pvc pipe.
Here are a few pictures of the build.

Paranormal

Great picture , hoax or not !
I've always been fascinated by the paranormal.
I'm not into sceances and such but the unknown
always brings up the fear in people...

Halloween 2010

We're making progress on the planning of next year's Halloween party.
There's a lot to do , so we need to start early.
Finished making the sample for the invitations .
One thing less to think about.

Rusty cauldron

You know those cheap black plastic cauldrons
they sell in stores ? They don't look very realistic.
To make them look more creepy and worn ,
we use Great Stuff .
You can pick this up at your local hardware store.

We spray this stuff onto the cauldron. Be careful
not to spray too much because it's expanding foam.
Once it dried , you can spray paint the foam brown .
Then you can dip a sponge or paint brush into a darker
 ( almost black ) brown and sponge it on.



Here's a pic of the finished cauldron.

You can also buy a ready-to-use rust kit which contains

a spray can of brown paint and the darker paint in a
regular can and also a paintbrush. It's made by Rust-oleum
and it's called " American Accents" .

Another year has passed and we're already

planning next year's Halloween setup.

We try to do a different theme and props each year

and you can't start building soon enough.
I never seem to have enough time

to finish whatever I have in mind.

I guess my dreams are bigger than my skills.

Anyway , on to the next. I will post how-to's

on the different props I'm gonna build
this year for those who are interested .

And we had a small electronic setup inside ,
called Ghost Steps. We put these ghost steps up
on the stairs so it looked like a ghost was going upstairs.

We're on a roll. This was our third annual Halloween
party at our house and we enjoy doing it.
It seems like everyone who attended the party had
a good time too. That's all we need to know.
Got some pics of the indoor decorations and such
but I decided not to put up any pics of our guests
for privacy reasons.
