Sphinx
Started working on the first major prop for Halloween 2010. It's a sphynx.
The skeleton will be completely made out of cardboard and will be papier mache'd later.
I'd like to keep my props lightweight , especially the ones that are gonna stay inside the house.
This year's theme will be , if you didn't guess it , Egypt.
I'm looking forward to building props for that theme since I have great interest in ancient Egypt.
Anyway , here are some pics of the progress. ( Took me about 4 hours ).

Omigosh, I'm in awe. How do you come UP with an armature like that?!?! Do you see it in your mind, or sketch it on paper? All I know is... MY mind would never come up with something that detailed, and supportive, and wow. I'm just impressed! :)
It's similar to those wooden skeletons of dinosaurs and such that you can buy in the stores. I thought it would work well for this project and it did. I didn't draw out anything , just started cutting pieces of cardboard. The body looks a lot like a dog's body. The reason I made it this way is to keep it light weight.
